On March 3, 2016, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace hosted a discussion with Jeffrey Garten and Thomas L. Friedman. The topic was “From Silk to Silicon and the Future of Globalization.”

On February 29, 2016, the Council on Foreign Relations hosted a roundtable discussion with Jeffrey Garten and Fareed Zakaria. The topic was “From Silk to Silicon and History’s Lessons for Understanding Globalization.”

On December 14, 2016, Jeffrey spoke with Edward Luce, Washington Commentator for the Financial Times, at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. The topic was “Globalization in an Age of Division.”

On November 17, 2016 Jeffrey spoke at the San Francisco World Affairs Council on the topic, “Globalization and the Next Administration.” The session was moderated by CEO of World Affairs Council and Global Philanthropy Forum, Jane Wales.

On November 12, 2015, Jeffrey Garten spoke at the World Affairs Councils of America annual national conference in Washington, D.C.

On March 30, 2017, Jeffrey spoke at the World Affairs Council of Greater Hampton Roads. The topic was “To Trade Or Not To Trade: Globalization vs Nationalism.” Jeffrey was interviewed by Dr. Jeff Tanner, Dean of Old Dominion University’s Strome College of Business.

On April 4, 2017 Jeffrey was interviewed at Yale School of Management by undergraduate students from Yale Leadership Institute. The discussion centered on some of the characters in From Silk to Silicon, and on how globalization is changing and the challenges posed to future leaders.
